The Namysto coffee tables are inspired by traditional Ukrainian necklaces and reinterpreted in a modern way. Namysto means necklace in Ukrainian. Lightly and elegantly, the flowing shapes of the beads are harmoniously integrated into the design of the coffee tables, adding a playful mood.

The DADA collection, 2023, is dedicated to Hans Arp, a sculptor and painter, a representative of abstractionism and Dadaism, who has been one of the designer’s favourite artists since her student days. Why do I remember him now? I think it’s a reflection on the war events.

1916 – at that time, there were many artists, writers and cultural figures in neutral Switzerland who were fleeing the horrors of the First World War, and Arp was among them. Three days after the announcement, in the crowded Cabaret Voltaire, a place created by artists for artists, Arp and his friends would proclaim a new artistic movement – “dada”.

Depending on which language you translate it from, “dada” means something else or simply resembles the babbling of a child. The absurdity of the name reflected the idea of the new art, because if there is a place in the world for a crazy and terrible war, then art should be just as absurd, the artists believed.

So the objects in this collection don’t have any specific meaning – it’s just a fun game with shapes and colours, even a bit childish.
